Shakira appears to be coping with the fallout from her recent breakup with longtime partner Gerard Piqué. The singer’s recent social media behaviour appears to support this, since she recently shared a video with a commentary and a visual message that suggested it was an expression of sadness, in addition to earlier posting cryptic statements.
Shakira posted a video of a human heart being trampled on on Instagram on Saturday. In the video, a person’s shoes can be seen treading all over the heart. The singer released the video at random along with the remark, in which she alluded to being hurt “Even though I remained silent, it stung. I anticipated this would occur.” Fans who left comments on Shakira’s post questioned whether her most recent post alluded to a forthcoming song or album. Shakira included a phrase that read, “It was the fault of monotony,” in a previous post she uploaded.

After more than ten years of marriage, the former couple, who first confirmed their relationship in 2011, recently announced their separation. The couple also has two kids, Milan, age nine, and Sasha, age seven. In June of this year, the singer and the football player announced their split in a joint statement. In an interview with Elle after her split, Shakira discussed the trying time she had been having and referred to it as the darkest hour of her life. The singer talked about keeping their kids out of the media attention surrounding her and Gerard’s public split.
The Hips Don’t Lie singer is also currently dealing with legal problems after being charged with tax evasion in Spain. Six counts of tax fraud have been brought against the singer by the prosecution for failing to pay 14.5 million euros in taxes. Shakira will reportedly go on trial for alleged tax fraud, as ordered by a Barcelona judge, it was recently disclosed. The artist has refuted the accusations made against her and insisted that she owes the Spanish Tax Agency nothing. In this case, Shakira might spend up to eight years in prison.
