2024 Global Fashion Moments: LE SSERAFIM Rocks Colombian Label LAKRAS

The collaboration between LAKRAS and LE SSERAFIM is not just a fashion statement—it’s a cultural moment. In one of 2024’s standout highlights, K-pop supergroup LE SSERAFIM captivated audiences with their bold choice: wearing pieces from the Colombian brand LAKRAS, founded by Alejandra Caicedo (Alek).

Alek is more than a designer; she’s an artist and performer whose work feels deeply personal. Her designs and performances remind me of Cindy Sherman—there’s something raw, transformative, and fearless about the way she explores femininity and identity through her creations. It’s as if each piece tells a story of reinvention, breaking boundaries between fashion and performance art.

A standout moment during the EASY comeback showcase was when LE SSERAFIM wore a top made from upcycled denim, designed by Federico Botero with his brand Exorbita in collaboration with LAKRAS. Although three of LAKRAS  garments were featured, one of the most significant pieces was the butterfly top. With its unique vintage flair and modern edge, the design embodied the themes of transformation and growth—concepts that resonate deeply with the group’s comeback album, EASY. The butterfly motif, a signature of LAKRAS, symbolized change, reinvention, and evolution, perfectly aligning with LE SSERAFIM’s own journey of personal and artistic transformation.

Interestingly, this top, which was first launched in 2022 while Alek was still living in Colombia, reflects a forward-thinking vision that has only recently been embraced by other fashion houses. Alek’s and Federico  innovative approach was evident when she introduced the upcycled denim top years days  brands like Blumarine adopted similar concepts. It’s a testament to her trendsetting vision that has only grown stronger since she moved to New York City.

By choosing LAKRAS, LE SSERAFIM didn’t just elevate their look—they made a powerful statement about the future of fashion, where sustainability and creativity coexist. The Colombian brand’s innovative approach to high fashion helped bring attention to a movement that is shaping a new era for the industry.

This iconic moment wasn’t just about music or fashion; it was a fusion of both, a celebration of cultural exchange. LE SSERAFIM once again proved that they are not only trendsetters in the K-pop world but also style icons influencing the global fashion scene. With LAKRAS, they spotlighted a brand that blends sustainability with cutting-edge design, challenging the fashion industry’s status quo.

In 2024, LE SSERAFIM and LAKRAS made history—not only with a game-changing fashion moment but with a collaboration that will leave an impact on both K-pop and global fashion for years to come.
